OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– The three Palestinian public figures Israel ordered to leave Jerusalem have marked their 224th day seeking sanctuary from those orders at the Jerusalem Red Cross headquarters with a visit from the international campaign against revoking citizenship of Palestinians in Jerusalem.

The delegation sought to discuss new developments and offer the men legal aid until their cases were finalized.

The three men Mohammed Totah and Ahmed Attoun, members of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) and Khalid Abu Arafeh, the PA’s former minister of Jerusalem affairs, said the Israeli Interior Minister was clearly procrastinating against the petition filed by their attorney, saying he saw no new developments that would call for cancelling the citizenship revocation decision. The file had been also transferred to the Israeli foreign and prime ministry’s.

The men said their case required a political solution instead of a legal one.

Briefing the rights group, they said despite visits by members of Association of European Parliamentarians and other international figures, little had been done on the ground.

According to UN Security Council resolutions, as an occupied people, it is illegal to banish the Palestinians from their cities.
