AL-KHALIL, (PIC)– Israeli occupation forces (IOF) detained seven Palestinian citizens in pre dawn incursions in West Bank cities on Thursday, the Israeli radio said.

The broadcast quoted an IOF spokesman as saying that the arrests were made in Bethlehem and Al-Khalil districts.

Meanwhile, locals said that an IOF unit stormed the village of Shuyukh east of Al-Khalil city before dawn Thursday and took away two brothers, one of them crippled.

Sources close to the family said that the IOF soldiers kidnapped Ra’ed and Mohammed Halaika and asked for their third brother Qa’ed, who was previously detained by Abbas’s authority. The soldiers said that Qa’ed should turn himself in but did not give any reason, they added.

The sources appealed to human rights groups to immediately intervene to demand the release of Ra’ed, who needs special care and treatment, noting that he uses a wheelchair and requires assistance for all his needs.

In a related report, the Palestinian prisoner’s association issued a report on Tuesday saying that the IOF troops rounded up 90 Palestinians in Al-Khalil in February including 19 children, 25 students, and a woman.

It said that the soldiers fire live bullets, burst into homes, especially after midnight, wreak havoc in them, and use hounds in their search.

The report pointed out that the 31-year-old woman Alya’a Al-Ja’bari was suffering a number of health problems and had recently undergone a surgery in her ear, and suffers from problems in her kidney and glands.
