OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– An Israeli think tank has been formed to discuss new ways to protect Israeli officers and soldiers from prosecution abroad for crimes against Palestinians.

The move came in the wake of an internet list containing nearly 200 Israeli war criminals.

According to Haaretz on Friday, the think tank in the Operations Division of the General Staff is especially designed to protect officers involved in future battles in the vicinity of civilians, whether in Palestinian territories or in southern Lebanon.

Ideas included imposing a ban on releasing the names of officers between the levels of company commander and brigade commander. But the idea received opposition inside the army and was considered nearly impossible.
