RAFAH, (PIC)– A delegation of the international alliance to end the Gaza siege arrived in the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing with Egypt on Sunday night, a source at the terminal said.

He said that a multi national delegation arrived in the Strip for the first time since the eruption of the Egyptian revolution on 25th January that ended the 30 years rule of Hosni Mubarak.

The source noted that the delegates, who brought with them a cement pack in a symbolic reference to breaking the siege and allowing badly needed construction material into the Strip, was received by a team of the government committee to break the siege.

Egyptian activist and spokesman for the alliance Ahmed Al-Asy said that the delegation includes two Egyptians, two Irishmen, two Britons, two Americans, a Hungarian, and two Greeks.

Asy said that the visit is meant to display solidarity with the Gaza people and to affirm rejection of the siege, adding that the Egyptians participating in the visit had taken part in the Egyptian revolution.
