Health Ministry curbs dialysis visits for Strip’s kidney patients

GAZA, (PIC)– The Ministry of Health in Gaza has been forced to curb the number of weekly dialysis visits for the Strip’s 375 kidney patients, including 13 children.

The move was made to preserve the Strip’s supply of dialysis solution, which is required for more than 80 devices of varied types.

Dialysis for kidney failure patients has cost the ministry around a million shekels a month as the Israeli economic blockade on the tiny enclave causes more and more difficulties in the area’s health sector.

The ministry has called on all health and humanitarian organizations for urgent intervention in Strip’s shortage of medicines.
