Israel Approves Homes in West Bank Settlements; Settlers attacks Targeting Palestinians Continue

Ramallah – PNN – Flowing deadly attack on a settler family on Saturday at dawn, retaliation attacks on Palestinians across the West Bank continued on Sunday.

Palestinians sources reported that the Israeli military is still enforcing a siege on the village of Awarta near the Itamar settlement where five settlers from the same family were killed yesterday.  Even though no Palestinian group claimed responsibility for the attack settlers accused Palestinians. Israel’s PM Netanyahu also accused the Palestinian Authority incitement against Israel of the attack.

Awarta was the first Palestinian village to be attacked by the Israeli army. On Saturday midday the Israeli army invaded Awarta searched homes and arrested 20 villagers. Today the town still lies under military curfew villagers reported.

Also on Sunday, settlers armed groups attacked Palestinian cars in roads connecting West Bank communities. At the Ramallah-Nablus and Ramallah-Qalqilia roads settlers attacked Palestinians cars, damage was reported but no injuries.

On Saturday evening a number of villages were attacked by Israeli settlers and Israeli soldiers; In Beit Omer, in southern West Bank, 2 civilians injured by the soldiers and settlers attack.

In related developments the Israeli government approved on Saturday evening new homes to be build in a number of West Bank settlements. The approved constructions to take place in the settlements of Gush Shalom settlement block in southern West Bank as well as Ma’ali Adomem and Aril in central and northern West Bank.

Palestinians President aid, Nabil Abu Rudaine, said that new settlement construction is wrong and unacceptable. Abu Rudaine told the state run news agency WAFA that new settlement construction will only make more obstacles for peace.
