NAZARETH, (PIC)– The Palestinian Prisoner Committee has staged fresh protests near the Israeli Megiddo prison demanding that the prison opens its doors to rights groups and doctors.

Demonstrators raised images of prisoners as Israeli authorities prohibited gathering directly in front of the prison. They closed off the area and classed it a military zone.

The protesters called upon rights groups to act swiftly regarding inhumane conditions in the prison.

According to a statement by the Palestinian Prisoner Committee, the sit-in’s message was to deliver the cries of the prisoners to rights groups so that they can follow violations made in the prison and force Israeli authorities to allow doctors and international rights groups to visit prisoners and learn their conditions, give them care and follow their cases.

The PPC has confirmed that weekly events to support the Palestinians held in all Israeli jails will continue until all humanitarian demands are met.
