Two killed in Israeli airstrike near Gaza City: medics

Two Palestinians were killed on Wednesday in an Israeli airstrike on a target east of Gaza City, a spokesman for the emergency services told AFP.

“Two people have been killed in an airstrike on the Zeitun area east of Gaza City,” said Adham Abu Selmiya.

Witnesses said the air strike targeted a militant training ground in the area.

The Israeli army had no immediate comment on the incident, which came shortly after Gaza militants fired a projectile into southern Israel, causing no damage or injuries.
