GAZA, (PIC)– Medics recovered Wednesday morning the bodies of two workers who died after a gas pipe exploded in a tunnel south of the Gaza Strip’s border with Egypt.

Asaad al-Qudra, 58, of Khan Younis and Mohammed Lashin, 45, from the northern Gaza Strip were found dead after the explosion that erupted in a tunnel near Shu’ut, south of Rafah, said Adham Abu Salmiyya, spokesman of the ambulance and emergency committee in statements he gave to the PIC.

Four others were injured by the explosion, he added.

Dozens of Palestinians have died while working in underground tunnels used by Gazans to supply the Strip with basic needs as Israel has imposed an economic blockade on the region for the past four years.
