JERUSALEM (Reuters) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday that Israel will act aggressively and responsibly to preserve quiet and security after violence with Palestinians escalated over the past week.

“Israel will act aggressively, responsibly and wisely to preserve the quiet and security that prevailed here over the past two years,” Netanyahu said before boarding a plane to Moscow where he will meet Russian leaders.

Violence along the Gaza border has spiked in recent days and a bombing attack on Wednesday in Jerusalem that Israeli police blamed on Palestinian militants killed one woman and injured at least 30 other people.
