Gaza City – PNN – Three Palestinians were wounded when continued Israeli airstrike activity targeted neighborhoods of Gaza City. Eyewitnesses said an F-16 fighter jet fired one missile at the al-Tufah neighborhood in northern Gaza City and at least three at the abandoned al-Safina intelligence office building in al-Sudaniya, also in the north.

The three Palestinians were transported to al-Shifa’ hospital for treatment, where their injuries were described as light to moderate. The material damage to homes near al-Safina was serious, however, and children in the area were reportedly terrified.

In the central Gaza Strip, local sources reported that an Israeli unmanned drone targeted civilians around Deir Balah, while eyewitnesses reported a missile fired at a group of civilians east of Beit Hanoun in the north. No injuries were reported in either incident.

Abroad in Russia, Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu promised a “measured” but “strong” response to homemade rockets fired from the Gaza Strip. Three Grad rockets landed in Ashdod, an Israeli coastal city 15 miles away from Gaza, on Thursdsay.

On Tuesday, eight Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes, including three children aged 11, 16, and 17, as well as 29 injured. On Wednesday, what many analysts said was a retaliatory bombing near the central bus station in Jerusalem killed one British woman and injured 38 Israelis. Escalation between Israel and Gaza-based militants is likely to increase in the next few days.
