GAZA, (PIC)– Deputy speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council Ahmed Bahar has called on the chairmen of fresh conferences held in Algeria, Morocco and Gaza to quickly implement the recommendations of those conferences concerning the Palestinians held in Israeli prisons.

He emphasized the importance of the role of the legal committees that emanated from those conferences held by the Organization of the Islamic Conference in working with international rights groups to see that Palestine’s war prisoners are freed.

Bahar said so Monday during a weekly stand in solidarity with the Palestinian war prisoners near the Red Cross headquarters in Gaza.

“We stand by the prisoners who spent their youth for the sake of Palestine. We give special mention to Abbas al-Sayyid who has remained in isolation and announced an open hunger strike for the twentieth day,” Bahar said.

He said the prisoners remain in cellars with Israeli criminals underground in solitary confinement with ”only crumbs” of food and drink. ”Where are the human rights organizations? Where is the [UN] Security Council? Where is Ban Ki-moon?”

He called on Palestinian factions to help end the POWs’ misery by capturing more Israeli soldiers who can be used to trade off for more of Hamas’s men in swap deals.

”We will not rest until the captives are freed,” Bahar concluded. ”These are not only our children, but the children of the Palestinian people, and the children of the Arabs and the Muslims and the Palestinian resistance. Our people will not forget them.”
