NABLUS, (PIC)– Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed the village of Awarta, southeast of Nablus, at a late hour on Monday and withdrew at dawn Tuesday after rounding up dozens of its inhabitants.

Eyewitnesses said that the IOF soldiers wreaked havoc in the village and broke into many homes and took more than 70 of its citizens to the village’s main squares after savagely searching their homes.

They said that the kidnapped citizens underwent field interrogation after which some of them were released while the fate of others was not yet known.

The incursion, described as “serious” by the inhabitants, was the last in a series of raids targeting the village ever since the murder of a five-member family in nearby Itamar settlement in mid March.
