Silwan, Jerusalem (SILWANIC) —  Wadi Hilweh Information Center director Jawad Siyam has been ordered by the Jerusalem Court to attend an additional hearing regarding a potential extension of his house arrest sentence, at the request of Israeli

police. Police have expanded their investigation of Siyam following the intervention of several diplomats and politicians seeking clarification regarding the ongoing violations of Siyam and his family’s rights at the hands of Israeli investigators.

The date of the hearing and its details are expected to be announced in the coming days. Several issues that are expected to be raised include the validity of complaints lodged against Siyam by his unnamed Palestinian prosecutor and the doctor who allegedly forged medical reports in relation to the assault charge.
