NAZARETH, (PIC)– Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu has approved construction plans of buildings in Itamar settlement north of the occupied West Bank, Hebrew media reported on Tuesday.

Yediot Ahronot said that Netanyahu and his war minister Ehud Barak had agreed to the step, which would also allow development of buildings even if no construction permits were granted.

Netanyahu had promised settlers in Itamar one month ago to allow construction in the settlement after the attack there that claimed the lives of a five-member family at the hands of an unknown assailant.

For its part, the central command in the Israeli army decided to build a new security fence around the settlement after the old one faulted in starting the alarm when the attacker cut through it.
