‘Hamas, Fatah agree on unity gov’t’

Palestinian factions of Hamas and Fatah have reportedly reached an understanding on the formation of a transitional Palestinian unity government.

Delegations representing the two groups announced the understanding on Wednesday in the Egyptian capital of Cairo, where they had just resumed unity talks, AFP reported.

The factions have been at odds since Hamas won the Palestinian parliamentary elections in January 2006.




Israel is outraged. An agreement or unity between Palestinians is their biggest nightmare, for rule and divide serves their real intention: Ethnic cleansing and annexation of the whole of Palestine.
