DAMASCUS, (PIC)– Member of Hamas’s political bureau Ezzat Al-Resheq strongly denounced the Israeli occupation for opening fire at Palestinian civilians inside Palestine and Arab border areas.

In a press release on Sunday, Resheq called on the international community to stop its double standard policy and condemn Israel’s crimes against peaceful protests.

He said the marches which took place in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Jerusalem, the 1948 occupied land and the refugee camps in the diaspora and Arab border areas on the 63rd anniversary of the nakba were the fruits of the great transformation in the Arab world and the Palestinian reconciliation which is still in its early stages.

The Hamas official also saluted the martyrs who were killed in Lebanon and Syrian border areas by Israeli troops, affirming that their death confirmed the Arab depth of the Palestinian cause.

On the 63rd anniversary of the nakba, dozens of Palestinians and Arab citizens were killed and wounded in Majdal Shams area in the Syrian side of the Golan province, Maroun Al-Ras in southern Lebanon, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip during peaceful marches in support of the right of return.

The Hamas Movement, for its part, considered the marches that were held in support of the Palestinian right of return inside Palestine and some neighboring Arab countries opened the door for a new stage in the conflict with the Israeli occupation.

“We assure the whole world that the return of the Palestinian refugees to their land and homes will always be the essence of the Palestinian cause, and we will definitely return to our land, cities, villages and property from which we were expelled sooner or later,” Hamas said in a statement on Sunday.
