The Palestinian Ministry of Public Works and Housing, has finished building “The Freedom Flotilla’s Martyrs Memorial & Square” in cooperation with the Ministry of Transportations to commemorate the martyrs of first Freedom Flotilla.
Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh will inaugurate the Memorial on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M, in the presence of a large number of Ministerial and National figures. Haniyeh will attend a wreath laying ceremony at the Memorial, there will be also the inauguration of “The Freedom Flotilla’s Martyrs Public Park”.
Yasser Al-Shanti, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry said: “that the ministry has completed the establishment of the “The Freedom Flotilla’s Martyrs Memorial & Square” which will be held to honor the martyrs of The Freedom Flotilla”.
“The monument is composed of 12-meter-hight nine sails symbolizes the nine martyrs in addition to metal ball which crowns the top of this edifice, the ball symbolizes planet Earth, in a clear indication of this heroic action which drew the world’s attention to the siege of Gaza”, Al-Shanti, added.
