Perdana Sends PVC Pipes for Devastated Sewerage Systems In Gaza Through Reps In Egypt

The Perdana Global Peace Foundation (PGPF) is determined to continue with its efforts in sending humanitarian aid of PVC pipes to Gaza despite the effort was recently blocked by the Israel.

Its adviser, Datuk Mukhriz Tun Dr Mahathir said the PVC pipes consignment would be made by the representative of PGPF, Tan Sri Samsudin Hitam who is now in El-Arish, Egypt, and assisted by the Malaysian Embassy in Egypt.

“I thank them (Samsudin and the Malaysian Ambassador to Egypt) and Wisma Putra for the close cooperation in helping PGPF in Egypt.

“We will continue in our efforts to send the pipes measuring 7.5km long to Gaza via Rafah,” he told reporters after launching the Jerlun Undergraduate With the People (Semarak) programme, here.

Mukhriz said nine more crew members from the ship MV Finch who had joined the mission to send the PVC pipes to Gaza would be arriving at the KL International Airport (KLIA) at about 7.50pm.

He said after PGPF president Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had sent a letter to the Prime Minister of Egypt to seek assistance from Egypt, nine members from MV Finch managed to come out from Egypt and expected to arrive at 7.50 tonight at the KLIA.

Last Wednesday, three more members who boarded the ship arrived safely in KLIA. They were Bernama journalist Mohd Faizal Hassan, a journalist from New Straits Times, Iskandar Alang Bendahara and a volunteer worker from Felda Liaison Office in Prime Minister’s department Mohd Radzillah Abdullah. – BERNAMA
