Palestinian workers appeal for end to persecution

RAMALLAH, (PIC)– Palestinian workers from the West Bank appealed to human rights groups to pressure Israeli police into ending their persecution.

One of those workers, Hassan Abdullah, said that the Israeli police stormed the building where he and his colleagues were residing in Tel Aviv and took them to jail and questioned them. He said that all those working without permits were beaten.

He said that the Israeli police deliberately insult and torture workers then force them to sign papers pledging never to return again to 1948 occupied Palestine.

Abdullah urged the media to focus on the suffering of those laborers, adding that hundreds of them are held in Israeli custody at various pretexts.

The worker blamed the PA in Ramallah for their condition, adding that no one cares for them and the soaring unemployment forced them to seek work in Israeli settlements in the West Bank and 1948 occupied Palestine.
