OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– A joint force of the Israeli police, border police, and intelligence blasted its way into the home and workplace of Amjad Abu Asab, the head of the Jerusalemite prisoners committee, in Suwana suburb near the gates of the Old City of Jerusalem on Tuesday.

Yacoub, Amjad’s brother, said that the Israeli forces wreaked havoc in the family home and tourism office and confiscated four computers, one of them used by the children, along with papers and documents.

They searched everywhere in the house including the kitchen and ransacked the children’s room before taking away Amjad, Yacoub said.

The Ahrar center for prisoners’ studies and human rights denounced the detention of Amjad, saying it was meant to silence the voice of those defending prisoners.

The Israeli occupation authority prevented lawyers from visiting Amjad in violation of the law.

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF), meanwhile, arrested four Palestinians in Bethlehem and Ramallah and took them away blindfolded and handcuffed.

Local sources said that a Palestinian man was also detained in Al-Khalil after thoroughly searching his home.
