Israeli soldiers killed Ibrahim Sarhan during a raid in El Fara refugee camp near the northern city of Nablus on Wednesday.
Witnesses say the 21-year-old man was on his way to a mosque when he was shot and Israeli soldiers delayed the arrival of an ambulance to the scene, leading to Sarhan’s death.
Red Crescent official Adnan al-Ghunaimi said that “a long time” passed until medics were allowed access, Ma’an news agency reported.
Sarhan’s mother, Um Muhammad, said she was shocked when she heard the news from neighbors after the student was pronounced dead.
“Oh God, my son was not wanted [by Israel], he was never arrested even once,” she said.
Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes once again targeted tunnels area in Rafah in the southern part of the Gaza Strip late on Wednesday.
