GAZA, (PIC)– The Algerian Red Crescent has donated Thursday 2.5 million dollars to the victims of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip in 2009 that left 1500 Palestinian martyrs and nearly 5000 wounded in addition to destroying the Strip’s infrastructure.

Haj Hammo Bin Zughair, the president of the Algerian Red Crescent, said that the amount was donated by benevolent Algerian citizens to their Palestinian brothers in the Gaza Strip, explaining that humanitarian aid extended by his society passed three stages.

The first stage, he said, was through dispatching teams of Algerian doctors, medical equipments, foodstuff, and dried blood bags.

In the second stage, he added, we dispatched Algerian psychiatrics to Gaza but the deposed regime in Egypt blocked them at Rafah crossing checkpoint and denied them entry.

The third stage, Zughair pointed out, was represented by the 2.5 million dollars we are donating to Gaza, explaning that part of the amount would go for the reconstruction of the Quds hospital that was rocked by Israeli missiles during the war.

Moreover, Zughair announced that Algerian families will be able to sponsor Palestinian orphans and children of captives through organized process that would enable them to follow up and get regular information about the child they sponsored
