#StateOfPalestine – I refuse…..
Statehood, September, UN and Recognition, are all words echoing through the social media networks in relation to the Israel/Palestine conflict. In what seems to be a desperate effort by the PA in the matter of restoring their legitimacy, Abbas is “threatening” to seek a unilateral recognition from the UN in September to validate Palestinian Statehood.
The recognition is supposed to be based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as the Capital of the proposed “Palestinian State”.
This imposes the ideology of the Two-State solution much advocated by the PA & Israel, A notion that has a very strong fan base in the Jewish right communities but remains a widely divided notion within the Palestinian mindset. The Two-State solution in a conflict with Apartheid as the underlying pillar of the regime, reminiscent of the “Bantustan State ” the Homeland for the Blacks advocated by the Apartheid regime of South Africa in an effort to diffuse the tension of the Apartheid reality & create a solution for justifying the segregation of the people & separation of the Land.
The idea of separation to solve conflict is rather precarious specially in such a religiously & culturally fueled conflict, even-though in my own personal opinion I refuse to label the conflict with a religious foreground because unlike what is typically portrayed I don’t associate Judaism with Zionism neither do I believe that Palestine belong to the Muslims, Palestine in my eyes is the cradle of religion & should be the epicenter of religious acceptance.
Apartheid South Africa was a near mirror image of the Apartheid regime in Israel today, most people whom try to negate this argument claim that the conflict in Palestine goes beyond Black & White while in truth, it is exactly a Black & White conflict.
A Two-State solution would mean that the Homeland for the Jews is created but what that also means in its parallel a Homeland for no Muslims & Christians. Zionism would further insure the full undisputed ownership of the land by claiming “Palestinian” agreements & claim a success to the Peace Process. This would mean that Palestinian territories{Gaza & the West Bank} would become a “State” & a demilitarized one at that.
Once Palestinians are granted a “Country”, it will work to divert the international attention from the conflict & reality of Palestine. It will also strengthen the power of the PA a complicit partner in the whitewashing of Apartheid ever since we embarked on the Oslo Process & the misleading trail of endless losses of battles to our cause through the virus of negotiations. I do however respect the foundation of the PA it’s essence an organization that has strayed from its path & thus has lost its place in the hearts of the Refugee’s even though its was started in refuge because they saw the real power in the Palestinians of the Diaspora now abandoned by the PA.
This is nothing but another anchor, a dead-weight that will be used to drag & slow us from reaching the victory we deserve, I refuse to let go of my Right of Return as a Palestinian of the Diaspora, I refuse to forget the Nakba and the Land that is-was and will remain rightfully mine, I refuse to allow for my heritage to be stolen, I refuse to allow the Holy Land become exclusive to a religion, I refuse to advocate Apartheid, I refuse to become complicit in robbing the rights of Palestinians, I refuse to allow the 48 to live in inequality, I refuse to accept a victory that I already know is mine & hail it great, I refuse to allow the PA speak in my name & the name of all Palestinians, I refuse to allow the siege on Gaza be justified by the lack of a Two-State solution, I refuse to live without dignity & that is why forever I fight for humanity, justice & real solutions for real peace.
I refuse the Two-State solution.
