NAZARETH, (PIC)– Israel and the United States will hold the most extensive yet joint anti-missile drill early 2012, Israel’s Jerusalem Post reported Tuesday.

The drill, tagged Juniper Cobra, aims at improving coordination between the countries’ defense apparatuses as fears of Iran’s nuclear program heighten, according to the paper.

The exercises will include the ”Arrow 2 and Iron Dome as well as America’s THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) and the ship-based Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense System. The exercise will likely include the actual launching of interceptors from these systems,” Jerusalem Post added.

The Israel air force and US missile defense agency have cooperated in joint anti-missile drills for the past five years, but the upcoming exercise will be the ”most complicated and extensive”, JPost said.
