GAZA, (PIC)– The international campaign to release Palestinian lawmakers held in Israeli occupation jails have denounced the world’s silence towards the Israeli practice of detaining elected representatives of the Palestinian people.

It described the Israeli arrest of MP Khaled Abu Tahous, Tobas district, at dawn Friday as a serious violation of his rights and of the rights of all MPs in the world.

The campaign urged the world parliaments to end their silence and to incriminate the Israeli detention of Palestinian MPs.

Noting that the number of detained Palestinian lawmakers in Israeli custody had thus reached 20, the campaign called for intensifying efforts on the political and legal levels to ensure the swift release of all detained Palestinian legislative council members.
