OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– On the second Friday of Ramadan the Israeli occupation deployed troops in large numbers in occupied Jerusalem and around it and stopped many worshipers from the West Bank from reaching the Mosque.

Israeli radio said that a large number of police were deployed in the old city around the Aqsa Mosque for the second Friday of Ramadan.

The occupation forces imposed restrictions on entry of worshipers from the West Bank allowing only men over the age of 50 to enter Jerusalem. Men over 45 were allowed in only if they had a permit and were accompanied by wife and children. Women under 30 were not allowed to enter Jerusalem without a permit.

Despite the restrictions about 170 thousand worshipers attended the Friday prayers at the Aqsa Mosque, mostly from Jerusalem and 1948-occupied Palestine.
