RAMALLAH, (PIC)– MP Hassan Yousef, a Hamas leader in the West Bank, has charged Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu with obstructing the prisoners’ exchange deal after it reached an advanced stage during the reign of his predecessor Ehud Olmert.

Yousef pointed out that Israeli negotiators, involved in the exchange deal contacts, held a series of talks with his movement’s detained leaders to discuss the deal.

He stressed that the talks were made inside the prisons and with groups of leaders and did not mention names or criteria for the release of Palestinian prisoners in return for the freedom of captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit.

Speaking about the conditions of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, the MP said that the past eight years witnessed noticeable deterioration in their incarceration conditions.
