Several other Egyptian policemen were also wounded in the Thursday strike, which was carried out, when an Israeli warplane fired missiles at the area south of the border terminal, AFP reported.
The incident followed Israeli warplanes’ pounding Gaza and killing seven Palestinians, including a nine-year-old boy.
Tel Aviv claims it launched the strikes on the coastal sliver in response to attacks near the Red Sea resort of Eilat in southern Israel, which left at least six Israelis dead and dozens others injured.
Israel Defense Minister Ehud Barak has accused Gaza of organizing the attacks and vowed a ‘full force’ response against the Palestinians in the Tel Aviv-besieged territory.
The democratically-elected government of the Palestinian resistance movement of Hamas in Gaza strongly rejected the allegations and warned against any act of aggression against the enclave.
