GAZA, (PIC)– Ismail al-Ashqar, chairman of the Palestinian Legislative Council’s (PLC) security committee, has called on the world community to take a decisive stance against Israel’s recent escalation against the Gaza Strip.

“Instead of demanding a stop to and condemning the resistance’s missiles, the International Quartet should condemn the Zionist crimes launched against our unarmed children, women, and people in Gaza over the past three days,” he said in a statement broadcasted on radio Saturday.

He also said that Israel wants to divert attention from its internal crises by launching new aggression on the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, PLC Deputy Speaker Ahmed Bahar, said that any talks of a truce with Israel can only be made after Israel halts its aggression.

Bahar emphasized in a press statement on Saturday evening that the Palestinians have a right to resist and defend themselves by all means necessary.

“No truce unless [Israel] stops the aggression. Our people are defending themselves in the face of a Zionist military operation, and they were not the instigator that triggered the escalation, which the Israeli governing is trying to use to achieve internal and foreign agendas,” Bahar said.

Killed by Israeli Occupation 2011

How many more dead corpses of Palestinians does the international community need to see in order to act? How many more cruelties and violations of Human Rights, Regulations and International Law will be needed to intervene so this ongoing warcrime is being stopped once and for all?
