Massive rallies have commenced in all Iranian cities on the International Quds Day in support of the Palestinian resistance against Israel.

Demonstrators have taken to the streets to express Iran’s support for the oppressed Palestinian people, and also to voice their anger at world hegemony and Israeli policies.

The participants carry placards and chant slogans against the United States and Israel.

Senior Iranian cleric Ayatollah Seyyed Ahmad Khatami will lead Tehran’s Friday prayers today.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who is participating in the rallies, will also address the marchers at the Friday prayers.

The late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini designated the last Friday of Ramadan as the “International Day of Quds” to protest against and raise awareness about the brutal occupation of Palestine by the US-backed Israeli regime and invoke support for Palestinians against the persisting occupation of their lands and massive violation of their rights.
