OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– More than 350 thousand Palestinian worshippers attended the night prayers Friday night, despite Israeli occupation restrictions, especially in relation with worshippers from the West Bank.

The mosque’s plazas were crowded with worshipers who arrived after the Maghreb prayers and those who remained at the Mosque after the Friday noon prayers.

The Aqsa Mosque Imams took turns in leading the Taraweeh prayers and completed the reading of the Quran, which was started on the first night of Ramadan.

After the completion of Taraweeh prayers thousands of worshippers streamed out of the Mosque onto the alleyways of the old city and roads were jam packed with cars and coaches carrying people who travelled to Jerusalem back to their towns.

Meanwhile, tens of thousands remained at the mosque to read Quran and perform Tahajjud prayers until Sahour, when worshipers have something light to eat, then start their fast at dawn and perform the dawn prayers.

The Aqsa Foundation for Endowment and Heritage said that it provided 30 thousand Iftar and Sahur meals for the worshipers and that it has hired 300 coaches to transport worshippers from their towns in 1948-occupied Palestine to Jerusalem.
