RAMALLAH, (PIC)– Palestinian MP Mustafa al-Barghouthi warned that Jewish settlers may massacre Palestinians after the Israeli government supplied them with arms and training.
Israeli authorities began taking such steps as the Palestinians’ plans to unilaterally seek state recognition with the UN draw nearer.
Barghouthi, who is also secretary-general of the Palestinian National Initiative, said the Israeli government would be responsible for armed attacks that could take place against the Palestinians in the West Bank.
He also accused the Israeli authorities of harboring ill-intentions against the Palestinians.
He said that the Israeli army’s plans to train settlers how to deal with Palestinians in the event an independent Palestinian state is declared this September prove the notion.
“The [Israeli] army and settlers are bent on massacring the Palestinians by training the settlers on firing live ammunition,” Barghouthi said, adding, however, that such methods of intimidation would not frighten the Palestinians.
