RAFAH, (PIC)– Five Palestinian fishermen were detained at sea off the coast of the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah at dawn Thursday at the hands of Israeli navy forces.

Sources in the fishermen syndicate told the PIC reporter that Israeli navy gunboats chased a Palestinian fishing boat while fishing off Rafah.

They said that the navy gunboats took all five fishermen on board to Ashdod harbor.

Israeli navy forces rounded up eight Palestinian fishermen early last week and then released six of them. The two others were released later on after Israeli intelligence tried to recruit them into working as informants.
