TULKARM, (PIC)– Dozens of Israeli tanks and military jeeps amassed Tuesday evening near the West Bank village of Nazlat ‘Isa, north of Tulkarm, and are bracing for potential clashes in the apartheid barrier area.

The village is the site of weekly anti-barrier protests, but West Bank security forces have banned such protests this week for alleged political and security reasons.

Unrest prevails in the occupied West Bank amid threats of attacks on Palestinian localities by Jewish settlers.

Meanwhile, Jewish settlers amassed at Israel’s Dotan military checkpoint in an attempt to storm nearby Ya’bad, 20 kilometers west of Jenin.

Israeli military forces have shut down the checkpoint, which is located on Tulkarm-Jenin road, and prevented Palestinian motorists from drawing near to it.

Locals Palestinians harbor fears of a surprise attacks by settlers.
