OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)–Clashes broke out on Thursday evening in different areas of the Jerusalem suburb of Silwan. The clashes were the result of the closure of roads leading in and out of the suburb to provide protection for Jewish settlers during their celebrations of the Jewish new year.

IOF troops also arrested Ramzi Dameri (28 years) when he was traveling with his family in his car, as he tried to pass Bir Ayyoub near the protest tent in the Bustan neighbourhood of Silwan.

Dameri lives in the Thawri neighbourhood of Silwan to the south of the Aqsa Mosque. The arrest and the setting up of the roadblocks was supervised by Etan Levi, a boarder-guards’ officer known for his ferocity in dealing with the people of Silwan, especially after he got burnt in an a clash with angry Palestinian youth in the suburb.
