TEHRAN, (PIC)– Deputy speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) Ahmed Bahar has called on Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to be frank with the Palestinians on negotiations, saying the peace process has reached a dead end.

He also called on Abbas to cooperate with the entire Palestinian people in order to develop national unified strategy aimed at terminating the Israeli occupation.

Speaking Saturday in Iranian capital Tehran in an address to an international conference to support the Palestinian uprising, Bahar called for material, political, and media support for the Palestinian resistance, emphasizing that resistance is the right of the Palestinian people under divine and earthly laws.

Bahar participated in the conference as the head of a delegation of members of the PLC, including MPs Ahmed Abu Halabiya and Jamila al-Shanti.

Bahar stressed the Arab and Islamic identity of Jerusalem and called on Arab and Muslim leaders to shoulder responsibilities with regards to the holy city and to provide all forms of support to its people to enhance their steadfastness in the face of Israel practices and plans.

Switching over to the matter of reconstruction in Gaza, Bahar rejected the politicization of the reconstruction process, calling it a purely humanitarian issue, calling on sponsors in reconstructing Gaza to provide funds without preconditions aimed at extorting Gaza politically at the expense of the displaced people.

Bahar also called for the establishment of an international fund used to enhance the steadfastness of the Arab population in Jerusalem and the formation of a legal committee to prosecute Israeli war criminals in the international courts.

Mentioning the challenges faced by the people of Jerusalem in light of the Israeli occupation, Bahar said that the city is exposed to Judaization and the changing of landmarks and buildings as Jewish settlements strangle it from around it and tunnels from under its neighborhoods and Al Aqsa Mosque with the intent of building their alleged Temple, in addition to entries by ultra-orthodox Jews of the mosque to desecrate it by drinking alcohol on its premises.

Bahar also addressed Israel’s decision to revoke the right of residence of the Palestinian representatives from Jerusalem, adding that the violent abduction of one of those politicians MP Ahmed Attoun on the Red Cross premises further proved Israel’s plans to eject the Palestinians from the holy city.

The senior Palestinian lawmaker also believed that the Arab Spring would end oppressive governments and support Jerusalem, Gaza, and Palestine, but he pointed out that it would take major efforts by the Arabs and Muslims to “invest” in the revolutions in order to end the occupation and establish an independent state on Palestinian land.

Nu’man ibn Bashir RA the Prophet SAWS  is reported to have said that

“The Muslims (the Ummah) are like the limbs of a man, where if the eye hurts the whole body feels pain and if the head hurts, the whole body feels pain and suffering.”

“Whoever does not take an interest in the affairs and problems of the Muslims, he is not of them. And whoever’s state is such that, each morning and evening, he is not loyal and earnest to Allah, his Apostle, His Book, the Islamic ruler and towards the Muslims, as a whole, he is not of them.”

Related by Jabir lbn Abdullah RA that he said

“I had taken a pledge at the hand of Rasuluilah SAWS to observe Swallah (prayers), to pay Zakaah (charity due) and to be a sincere well-wisher of every Muslim.” The Fact that the Prophet SAWS took the pledge or promise from the companions, for being a sincere well – wisher of the Muslims together with that of observing Swalaah and Zakaah which are important pillars of Islam – shows the importance attached by him to the matter.

Anas RA  reports that Rasulullah SAWS once said

“I swear by the Holy Being in whose power my life is, any one of you cannot be a true believer unless he desires for his fellow-brother what he desires for himself.”

Abu Hurairah RA relates that the Prophet SAWS said

“A Believer is a mirror to a fellow-believer and he is his brother, he removes his defect (or deficiency) and guards him from behind. (In cases where he is unaware etc.).”

It is related by Jareer Ibn Abdullah RA that the Prophet SAWS  said:

“Those whose hearts are devoid of mercy for others, will not obain the mercy of Allah.”
