GAZA, (PIC)– More than 8,000 Palestinian teachers are planning on holding a sit-in inside of the UN Relief Works Agency headquarters in Gaza to protest the dismissal of the chairman of UNRWA Arab staff union Suhail al-Hindi.

Teachers and staff at UNRWA schools have escalated industrial action against UNRWA including strikes that have closed down all UNRWA schools across the Gaza Strip.

Their demands include, at minimum, the reinstatement of Hindi in his former position.
