JERUSALEM (Ma’an) — Israeli police arrested an 18-year-old suspected of torching a mosque in northern Israel, according to media reports on Thursday.

The mosque in the Bedouin village of Tuba Zangaria was severely damaged after assailants lit it on fire overnight Sunday, police told reporters at the time.

Israeli news site Ynet said the youth had been detained after police seized him in a routine patrol.

Police said they had set up a special task force to deal with the “price taggers,” Reuters reported, a reference attacks on Palestinians by Israelis, usually settlers in the West Bank, in revenge for policies they oppose.

A court in Nazareth has imposed a gag order on details of the investigation being conducted by Israel’s internal security agency the Shin Bet.
