NAZARETH, (PIC)– Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee chairman Shaul Mofaz cancelled a visit to Turkey fearing prosecution in the light of the crisis in the relations between Turkey and the Zionist entity.

According to Hebrew media sources, Mofaz, who occupied the post of war minister in the past, postponed his visit till further notice because of “high expenses of security arrangements at these difficult times,” as he was reported to have said.

Turkish judiciary intends to start legal proceedings against 174 IOF officers and military officials accuses of causing the death of nine Turkish men travelling with the Freedom Flotilla on the Mavi Marmara last year.

Turkish press sources said that the Turkish Attorney General has applied for international arrest warrants for the Israelis involved, weeks after Turkish judiciary asked the Israelis to supply them with the names of those involved, but no reply has so far been received.

The Turkish newspaper, Sabah, reported that Turkish intelligence recognised those involved in the attack on the Mavi Marmara, pointing out that the IOF Chief of Staff, Gabi Ashkenazi is on top of the list, followed by the officers and soldiers involved in the attack.
