GAZA, (PIC)– The Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haneyya lead the Eid Prayers at Falastin Mosque in Gaza City. He congratulated the Palestinian people and the Arab and Muslim Ummah on the advent of Eid and prayed to God to protect the Ummah. Participants of “Miles for Smiles 7” aid convoy, the Algerian delegation and other official, factional and society figures attended the Eid prayers.

Haneyya said in the Eid sermon: “We call this Eid, the Eid of freedom,” adding that the Ummah is making its own glory anew, after living so many years in a political prison, loss and subordination.

He added that the Ummah today has discovered its way and defined its target and moved steadily with full awareness of what is happening around it. It is the Eid of freedom for Tunis, for Egypt, for Libya and for the whole Ummah which has defeated siege and tyranny and took control of its destiny. It is the Eid of freedom for all the people who went out on the streets demanding an end to the regime, demanding dignity and freedom for Palestine and Jerusalem.

“It is the Eid of freedom for out captives who were freed [..] we will continue to work for the freedom of the rest of captives in occupation jails,” he added.

He said that the day of the liberation of the Aqsa Mosque is the ultimate day of joy and that such a day requires a lot of effort on the part of the whole Ummah, and that it starts by getting rid of tyrannical regimes.
