PNN – The Israeli army issued summonses to freed Palestinian prisoners Na’el and Fakhri Barghouthi on Monday morning, calling them for interrogation at Ofer military prison near Ramallah.

Fakhri and Na’el Barghouthi, both detained in 1978 and called “the deans of prisoners” after having spent 33 years each in Israeli military prison, found their family homes in the central West Bank village of Kober raided on Monday before dawn.
Israeli troops confiscated both of their identity cards and demanded they come to Ofer for interrogation within the week.
The incident comes one day after freed prisoner Sumoud Karajeh was summoned for interrogation at Ofer.
Na’el and Fakhri both called for an Egyptian mediator–responsible for the Shalit deal in which they were released–to intervene to immediately end the “policy of terrorism” of harassing freed prisoners. The local prisoners’ club agreed, saying a solution to to the problem needed to be found urgently.
