SALFIT, (PIC)– The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) is planning to confiscate 85% of Kufr Al-Dik village, Salfit province, land, the village’s municipality chief Jamal Khader said.

He told Quds Press on Sunday that the municipality received a new draft scheme from the IOA envisaging the expropriation of more than 2000 dunums of land to the southwest of the village.

He said that if implemented the plan would confiscate 85% of the land owned by the village inhabitants.

Khader quoted the IOA as claiming that those land lots were “state land” since they were not cultivated for the past three years and were owned by the IOA.

He said that the municipality was working with legal circles to abort the Israeli scheme and to prove that the land was owned by Kufr Al-Dik inhabitants.
