GAZA, (PIC)– The UN annual report on the humanitarian conditions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip serves as another proof of Israeli occupation’s crimes, Dr. Sami Abu Zuhri, a Hamas spokesman, said on Thursday.

He called on the UN and its Security Council, in a terse statement, to assume their responsibility, end the Israeli crimes, and bring the Israeli officials to account.

The report, which was tabled with the Security Council on Wednesday, described the Israeli blockade on Gaza as a form of “collective punishment”, citing a bleak image of the inhabitants’ educational, living, and health conditions.

It pointed to an increase of 30% in the number of citizens in the West Bank and Gaza Strip who find difficulty in attaining food and vital services compared to 2010.

The report mentioned the situation in occupied Jerusalem, noting that the number of displaced Jerusalemites in 2011 was less than 2010 but the city was more isolated from the West Bank.
