AMMAN, (PIC)– Secretary-general of the organization of Islamic cooperation Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said his organization has made diplomatic moves to extend financial help to the Palestinian institutions in occupied Jerusalem.

This came in a statement on Sunday read on his behalf by the organization’s assistant secretary-general for Palestine and Jerusalem affairs Samir Diyab in a conference held in Amman on Jerusalem and the dangers threatening it.

Ihsanoglu added that the Islamic development bank earmarked earlier this month 15 millions dollars to support the housing sector in Jerusalem and there are pledges to develop the health and education sectors in the holy city.

He affirmed in the statement that what is given for Jerusalem is small and humble compared to what the holy city need to confront the Judaization project.

The secretary-general urged the Islamic countries to provide every support they can to finance vital projects in Jerusalem.
