DAMASCUS, (PIC)– Hamas said, in a statement on Thursday, that the refusal of UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, to meet with the families of Palestinian victims of the Israeli occupation exposed his double standards and bias to occupation.

“We, in the Hamas movement, deplore [Ban Ki-moon’s] position of refusing to meet with the families of martyrs and captives in occupation jails. This position exposes double standards in dealing with the just cause of our Palestinian people,” Hamas said in the statement, adding that it considers this behaviour to contradict with the principles on which the United Nations was built and to expose clear bias in favour of Zionist occupation.

The movement called on all Palestinian organisations to express their rejection of the Secretary General’s behaviour towards the families of Palestinian victims and his unbalanced dealing.

Hamas called on the United Nations with all its agencies to do justice to the Palestinian people who suffer daily death, expulsion and imprisonment at the hands of the Zionist war machine.
