PFLP armed wing claims rocket attack

GAZA CITY (Ma’an) — The armed wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine claimed responsibility Thursday for firing three mortar shells at an Israeli force east of Gaza.

The Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades said that its operatives targeted the forces southeast of the Nahal Oz area at 3:40 p.m.

The statement said that it would continue its resistance to “everything that is targeting the people and their weapons, and will guard the country and defend its borders.”

Earlier, Israeli media reported that three rockets fired from the Gaza Strip landed in an open area in the Ashkelon Regional Council of southern Israel.

There were no reports of injury or damage, Israel’s Ynet news service said.
