WEST BANK, (PIC)– The Hamas Movement said one of the most important steps for the success of the inter-Palestinian reconciliation agreements of Cairo and Doha is to end the political arrest of citizens carried out by the security forces of its Fatah rival in the West Bank.

“The West Bank security apparatuses of Abbas have never stopped its kidnapping and arrest practices; they detained during February 43 Palestinian citizens inflicting on them the worst forms of psychological and physical torture and refusing to release them in compliance with judicial orders,” Hamas media office stated in a report covering the violations committed last month by the Palestinian authority security agencies.

Its report noted that four of these political prisoners have been hunger strikers since last month and would continue to do so until the Palestinian authority and its security agencies end their arbitrary detention.

It added that the PA security apparatuses persisted in its cooperation with the Israeli occupation forces and summoned for interrogation and detained a number of Palestinian prisoners released from Israeli jails.
