GAZA, (PIC)– The international campaign for the release of Palestinian MPs detained in Israeli jails has blamed the world’s silence over the Israeli occupation authority’s persistence in its detention of Palestinian lawmakers.
The campaign said in a statement on Monday commenting on the IOA renewal of MP Mahmoud Al-Ramahi’s administrative detention for four months for the fourth time running that the IOA persisted in its policy of administrative custody thanks to the world’s silence.
It lashed out at the Israeli policy, adding that it was in blatant disregard of the international law and of the MPs’ immunity.
The campaign said that the IOA was storming homes and arresting lawmakers and renewing endless administrative detention periods.
It noted that the IOA was still holding 24 lawmakers in administrative custody including the parliament speaker Dr. Aziz Dweik.
The campaign urged the world community to end its silence, warning that silence is collusion in such a “serious crime”.
