Mishaal discusses Palestinian developments with Gul

ISTANBUL, (PIC)– Political bureau chairman of Hamas Khaled Mishaal conferred with Turkish president Abdullah Gul in Istanbul on Saturday night on Palestinian developments.

Political bureau member of Hamas Ezzet Al-Resheq said in a press release that Mishaal Thanked Gul for his country’s support for the Palestinian people and for its role in breaking the blockade on Gaza.

He added that both parties deliberated the Palestinian developments and Mishaal briefed Gul on the latest Israeli aggression on Gaza and the constant Israeli violation of Palestinian rights in addition to the conditions in occupied Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque and holy shrines that are the target of ceaseless Judaization attempts.

Resheq said that Mishaal also briefed Gul on latest developments in the reconciliation process.

He said that Mishaal affirmed that Hamas and the Palestinian people would never forget Turkey’s stand in support of the Palestinians and would remember forever the Turkish martyrs aboard Mavi Marmara, who were killed by Israeli forces while accompanying relief material to Gaza.

Resheq noted that Gul, for his part, called for Palestinian solidarity and unity, adding that the democracy reached in the Arab Spring countries necessitate a similar change in the Palestinian arena.

The Turkish president underlined that his country would continue to support Palestinian legitimate rights and would continue to support international recognition of Palestinian statehood.
